About this scholarship
Boren Awards fund study abroad for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to study critical languages and immerse in cultures in world regions underrepresented in study abroad. Recipients commit to public service in positions critical to U.S. national security throughout the Federal Government.

Eligibility details
U.S. citizen. Undergraduate student matriculated at an accredited U.S. institution. Planning to study abroad in a country outside of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand. Focused on language study, particularly less commonly taught languages like Russian. Minimum 2.5 GPA. Willing to fulfill federal service requirement.
