About this scholarship
This scholarship honors the legacy of William A. Lewis by supporting underrepresented BIPOC students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in STEM fields at Historically Black Colleges or Universities (HBCUs). Applicants must write an essay (400–600 words) about an obstacle they overcame in their pursuit of higher education and who helped them overcome it. Selection is based on ambition, need, and boldness.
